Bittersweet 20th Anniversary

2005, the craziness and chaos that is Morning Radio on WMMR changed forever.

The loss of Y100 still pretty fresh on the minds of listeners in the Delaware Valley, a non-compete trial… and then an NBC10 presser with Pierre Robert, two stand in’s for Preston & Steve with the official announcement, and a whisper promoThen, on May 16th, 2005 it all began.  From the old favorite game “”What You Say, Jose” to people having heart attacks, the morning show was at full speed from the word go.

Just for fun, the second show on WMMR is also here.  This was even before the station was putting full shows up after airing in the AM.  From Tom Cruise giving a 2 minute interview and Casey being thrown out of the studio during the 1st (actually 2nd) Drunk Day broadcast and bringing in a pony for Kathy’s birthday.  From Captain Noah, a spin on the baby wheel to the farm not exactly behind but kinda next to the Plymouth Meeting Mall, right near the Animal Hospital.  Through the best of times, and the worst of times, the show has endured all of it.

Me personally, I am so incredibly honored to call them family and I will keep this site running as long as I am breathing.  So here is to you, Preston, Steve, Casey, Nick, Marisa and the very much missed Kathy.  I love you and congrats to 20 years.

PS. I had planned a little more glitz and glamour for this update, but to be completely transparent, the events from just last week took the wind out of my sales as well.  As far as doing the updates, with everything that has come to light, it has been harder than I thought.  I will miss Kathy’s presence on the show for a long time.  Again, I cannot imagine what it is like on their end.

Love, Dan Colacicco
